What Does the TR-YÖS 10% Quota Mean?

What Does the TR-YÖS 10% Quota Mean?

As your YÖS Advisor, we explain the concept of the 10% quota, which is frequently asked about by students preparing for the TR-YÖS exam. In Turkey, there are quota restrictions on the admission of foreign students to universities, and one of the most well-known of these restrictions is the “10% quota” application.

What is the 10% Quota?
Foreign students who take the TR-YÖS have the right to be placed in only 10% of the quota set for each program at universities in Turkey. This means that foreign students are allocated a specific percentage of the total number of students at universities.

For example, if a bachelor’s program has a quota of 100 students, 10 students from this program are reserved for foreign applicants. Based on the TR-YÖS exam results, students are placed according to this 10% quota under the guidance of YÖS Danışmanım.
